Swallow Cam Update

We are pleased to announce that the eggs in swallow cam nest hatched last monday! We aren’t sure exactly how many chicks there are, we can definitely see at least four little mouths being fed. Maybe there is a fifth chick and we just can see it yet or maybe the fifth egg didnt hatch, time will tell.

The chicks from the other two nests fledged at the beginning of the week and  they have occasionally been seen nearby over the last few days.

Swallow Update

It seems that only three of the four nests at the mill are being used so far this year. One nest already has hatched chicks in it, they are too small to tell how many at the moment. The pair nesting in the swallow cam nest had a slow start, they didn’t seem to settle in the nest for several weeks after returning, but they now have eggs!  More news as it happens.
